However, the actual action scenes are often incoherent, particularly during an intense showdown involving a massive construction vehicle. The film tries to connect each confrontation, but the pacing is sluggish and unengaging.

One of the more interesting aspects of the movie is its exploration of Johnny Blaze's curse, which is tied to his son Danny (Fergus Riordan). The boy is revealed to be the spawn of the dark lord Roarke (Ciaran Hinds), who seeks to possess him. The flaming skeleton head of Ghost Rider taunts villains in a funhouse quality, and the digital effects on his motorcycle jacket are impressive.
